OMG Accessories: Gold Galore by Born Pretty Store + Review

A galore of gold accessories greeted me when I opened my parcel from Born Pretty

Born Pretty first offered me to review their products last month and it took about a month to arrive in my city, they offer worldwide shipping. My haul includes two gold rings and two necklaces. My first impression? Cuties!

Let’s go over them one by one shall we?

On the left is an owl ring featuring a clear crystal gem in the middle and two white opaque white eyes and only one foot has a pink extension. It does look unnecessary, it also cheapens the look. The eyes look uneven. On the right is an emerald bunny ring, it’s gem is ovate and the cut around the gold ring makes it look like it is studded in little crystals which I fancy on top of the four more little stones on the ears. I think it’s a nice touch. Both rings are adjustable which means that I can wear them anytime I like immediately without having to go through resizing them. I particularly like the emerald ring because it is my birthstone and it makes good costume jewellery.

The cat necklace is cute and will make for good everyday wear. The clasp is also attached to an extension the length is similar to that of a choker. It’s very lightweight and I am afraid that the clasp is not so secure, there's a good chance it will fall off before I notice it. The pendant is cute and is about half the size of a 5 Peso coin. I like that it's shiny and clean, not to mention super adorable!

At first look, the design is rather attractive and it comes in an antiquated gold look. What put me off was the presence of some mouldy substance on some branches of the pendant. Otherwise it could have been a very nice necklace that could add a nice touch to a plain tee. I tried cleaning it with dry tissue paper but  it won't come off. It also has a leaf attached to the chain, I don't really know what effect it should have achieved though. What I really like about this necklace though is that it has many inspiring inscriptions written on it, my favourite words are trust, concern and believe.

Looking back at the pieces, it looks like it is a nature haul with a bunny, owl, cat and a tree. I like the selection sent to me and these pieces are glamorous that can add nice details to even the simplest of outfits. I will be mixing and matching them soon. My personal fave is the cat necklace and I have a soft spot for the emerald bunny ring because it's my birth stone, talk about biased. =)

#Win Wire Jewelry From Christine's Books and Baubles Giveaway!

The beauty of wearing handmade items is that you know it's unique, that nobody else has the same accessory because it's one of a kind. This is one reason why Raisie Speaks likes to support creatives like Ms. Christine Fabian-Ruste, a lady with the passion to turn beads and wires into inspired colors and forms.

In Christine's Books and Baubles, there are also Argain Oil based beauty products and secondhand books for sale, (I'd go over there asap if I were you). That's not taking for granted the beautiful wire jewelry such as pendants, bracelets, rings and necklaces. My favorites are chunky beads and choker necklaces, as my Mom likes to call them, and varying hues of green, blue, pink and purple. You can choose your own favorites and you will be assured that owning a work of art handmade from Ms. Christine herself is surely affordable.

The generous shop owner has also decided to give away some of her creations. But first, a look at the prizes:

Prize A
The focus against the lilac beads is balanced out by the coral diagonal pendant on the charming bracelet. The three tone wire ring is a part of her New Year Collection and can be worn with a stack of silver rings to produce a layered look.

The tangerine, emerald and metals bracelet is great when worn with a gray or brown shirt, complete the outfit by wearing complementing earrings and a ring making use of the same tangerine beads-great for summer and winter season!

Prize B

I don't think anyone has thought of combining colorful wooden beads and neutral beads to create a bracelet that has a character of its own, but Ms. Christine dared-and succeeded! Can't afford a sapphire? Not to worry, you can still sport this cute cut blue bead ring and see the way the light disperses- at least it's handmade!
Discs and rounds are the theme of the pink, red and disc bracelet, just the perfect pair to the red bead set in gold wire ring (a personal fave-shame I can't join my own giveaway).

Hint: guys can still join and gift these prizes to their Moms, sisters, aunts and girlfriends or best friends.

There are two lucky winners for this particular giveaway, and if you happen to be one of them, be sure to take very good care of these, they're surely bound to be the start of conversation between wire jewelry aficionados! Good luck!

OMG Acccessories: Nothing Beats Personalized Like A Classic Monogram, ONecklace UK Shows How It's Done

The parcel bag was made in Germany, which was posted by an address in Jerusalem, shipped to an address in the Philippines, sponsored by a shop in the UK. Despite this rather exhaustive travel of a parcel, it made its way into the hands of this blogger.

Looking at all the monograms, I had to recall that both my mom and auntie had kept their monogrammed handkerchiefs-yes, they were a part of that era, and it must have been really charming to mark one's personal belongings with something as elegant as a monogram. People like personalized. It's also a smart idea for gifts and can be a keepsake for many years.

When oNecklace UK asked me to choose which style I preferred, I requested for the  Sterling Silver Circle Monogram Necklace. The package included a Certificate of Authenticity, a box containing my necklace and a gift voucher.

At first I thought it was  going to be heavy, but I was surprised that it was just the right size and the pendant was lightweight. The necklace itself adds a touch of elegance to any plain outfit, and it's very glamorous! There's a nostalgic feel to the way this type of monogram is presented, and it's something that I can keep or even give someone with the same initials when the time comes.

oNecklace jewelry are one of the most stunning and contemporary pieces that can be found in the market. All the beautiful creations are found in a state of the art factory, making use of efficient machinery and a highly competent workforce intent on creating personalized jewelry that suit individual style and discriminating taste.

I find that the Circle Monogram necklace in silver is very stylish in its simplicity. It's also a smart gift idea and is very elegant. Surely, anyone will appreciate this versatile piece of jewelry. I've been wearing this everyday since I received it and it goes well with corporate and casual outfits. A monogram necklace can also be a surefire gift for someone special come Valentine's Day. Sundays Are All About Winding Down- Love, Arista

Hi! How are you doing? I hope you’re having a cool weekend! I’m Arista, a year-old chocolate Labrador who lives in a mountain-side property. Over here, there’s lots of fresh air and also grass to roll around in. If other dogs avoid water, I am the first one to launch into it and just play around. I also know how to fetch! My mommy buys me toys that don’t last for more than five minutes, but she tries. She does.

Mommy right now is busy baking in the kitchen, and I think if I make a good show of my darling eyes, I can make her give me some of that butter cake. Since she left her laptop open, I thought I might do her a favour of narrating to you what Mommy and I did this weekend. Good thing there are photos here to support my claim on how behaved I really am, you know...

Well Mommy just started reading this paperback version of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen by Paul Torday. She brought it home from a business trip last month and realized that it has been months since the last book review, so there you are. She’s also bought more stationery for writing, and Mommy has a weak spot for chocolate milk but she added ice to Swiss Miss with marshmallow instead of drinking it hot.

There’s another haul from Sample Room that arrived this week. The package includes Probiotics fiber, Celeteque Back Acne Spray, and Calchews in Chocolate and Caramel. Mommy says that the Chocolate tastes like Tootsie Roll!

Do you see that Reese’s sticks up there? Mommy is crazy for those. She also has two new Kit Kat flavours whose labels she can’t even read. At least I’m smart enough to say that the green one is green tea. There’s Radiant Orchid in the Human Nature eye shadow palette (which I believe is the last one ever out there) and Tropical Rose seems to be a good, healthy color on the skin. #sampleroom

Another thing that excited the both of us is the arrival of Onecklace monogram necklace in silver. Isn’t it lovely? What makes Mommy happy also makes Arista happy! Watch out for a separate post on this. #silver #jewelry #onecklace

And finally, this haul is simply for the babies. Mommy found the green silicon bone at a local supermarket. It’s supposed to clean my teeth and keep me from stealing people’s slippers here in the house. Mommy also had to make sure there’s enough stock of dog soap here at home. I also have a new pink collar. Don’t I look pretty in it? The blue one is Axle's.

See, I told you I am so behaved. Mommy allowed me to stay with her to keep her company. We went for a walk shortly after I was all fresh and clean and smelling good. Mommy has to get more shampoo for me!

I also went to say hi to my friends the goats at the back of the house. I promised I didn't bark or harass them. I'm a sweet baby like that.

So I guess that's it. I'm sure there will be more to follow but I do know that it's going to be a busy week for the both of us and Mommy wants to get me a bed of my own so I won't have to really stretch on the hard and cold floor. I'm trying my best to be clean all the time.

I hope you enjoy your time with family! It's time for me to be a good girl because I smell the cake in the oven calling my name!

Love,
Arista
