Outfit Post: Black and White Floral Dress

It's been a while since the last outfit post. and quite frankly I bet nobody reads my outfit posts because I look like a kid who just escaped from school. Must be because of my height. But here I am still doing crazy outfit posts especially if there are occasions when I could dress up.

So last night was our thanksgiving dinner with people at work, and people related to work, and people who we got to know through work. This is what I wore, a black floral dress from Adah Belle with black lace flats. I just brought a black blazer along just in case it was too cold, and of course, my grandmother's ever trusty leather bag which is so much older than me.

A closer look on the dress's print

Filigree Lace Earrings were to complement the lace design of my flats

Well it's really no secret that I am uber comfortable walking around in flats especially in a big venue like Astoria Plaza where our gathering was held. But do you make it a point to wear sexier heels even if it hurts throughout the night? I know a lot of women who have spent half of their lives walking effortlessly in heels- I am somewhere stuck in the middle of it...

Weekend in Photos

Halfway through. I finally got to isolate the book from the background, now I just have to figure out how I arrived at that kind of setting.

Attended the concert with Mommy last night, no photos of concert were taken but we took some outfit shots against the piano before leaving.  Finally got the chance to wear that dress again after a year!

Caught up with The Cousin, The Auntie and The Sister after the concert last night because one of them complained about being hungry.

Here is something which just arrived this morning.

And here's what I wore to the concert. I think I need to curl the ends of my hair to give it more character. My hair is too thin, too straight and too limp.

Pfsh!

And I guess that's it, I think I am more inspired than ever slowly resume activity in this corner.

Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Black and White

Super quick post, for two purposes.

Assorted beads and wires and some touches of silver charms

Ribbon bookmarks in black and white

I'm mixing and matching still on the look out for new supplies for crafting. I'm preparing something crazy for my siblings in the blogosphere, this is a little teaser for now.

Ciao!

Breaking The Rules: Do You have to Match Your Bags and Shoes?

I think it was my grandmother who told me that one of the rules of dressing up is to match your bags and shoes.

What?

Match your bags and shoes.

I think she meant wearing the same color family for your bags and shoes, and this was a rule even my mom followed. So if women were also quite fashion conscious, (and have the money to do so,) a lot of matching could be done. But I guess during Lola's time, it was not a problem since the purchasing power of the peso still had its strength. And if we were given the luxury, we could be doing this:

I think my grandma would say this one is for weddings

Purple is royalty's color

Black and gold never fails

A blue satin number for a date?

Red satin for the red carpet or is it too much?

Take a pick between the black...

Or blue studded match...

Or beige will do

Care for some florals?

But what of breaking the rules?

Honestly, I can't afford to follow the rules.

But if it's breaking the rules we are talking about, let's see how Helena Bohnam Carter breaks the rules.

Mismatched shoes for a floral satin and tulle dress on a formal event

If you're an athlete, you can break the rules too as long as they are Nike

Polkas join in the rule breaking

They belong together, not quite mismatched

Even little girls are allowed to mismatch

Primary color mismatch

Can't make up whether to go with red or blue

Mishap or intentional mismatch? Try dancing in those

Do you follow or break the rules? Let me know! =p
