L Gluta Power Soap and Royale Beauty Lipstick by Royale Business Club

I’ve always believed that different people come into our lives for different purposes.

As for a friend of mine in uni, she’s told me all about her latest business and voila, I have new products to try. I’m quite lucky to have the L Gluta Power Soap and Beauty Lipstick to sample.

The reason why I am interested in the Gluta Power Soap is because my face has darkened since I’ve started my rounds in public school. So I’m going to put this to the test. Also, I’m just going to work for an even tone and see if my blemishes and acne can be prevented. I’ve heard from a friend that it’s better than Kojic soap so let’s see. Update: the soap smells like Sampaguita blossoms!

On the other hand, there is the Royale Beauty Lipstick Satin in Coral Craze. I’m quite impressed with the packaging because of its all-silver box and tube.  It’s a little matte in appearance but when swatched is also has a little glossy effect so that I can skip the gloss. As for staying power, it depends on the exposure and activity I engage in throughout the day. Then again, there’s always time to reapply in the middle of the day.

Thank you to Angelica and Ate Kat for introducing me to Royale. If you wish to take a look at their products and place orders, kindly send them a message on Facebook.

Have a good weekend!

Would You Want To Guess Which Colour Collection Lip Perfection Shade I Grabbed?

Sample Room has introduced quite some interesting products lately, some of which went out of stock immediately just minutes after posting and announcements. I was lucky to have sampled two shades of the latest Colour Collection Lip Perfection lipsticks with Argan Oil by Sample Room.

On the left is a peach and nude shade, Crema, that goes well with formal looks and conservative work environments. I find that it takes at least two coats to give my lips good colour and it has a somewhat sheer finish. As for the shade on the right called Bella, it's a bright pink that packs a punch and will look great in the evenings. It's also for those who want attention-grabbing lips apart from red. It has a generous amount of colour and has a semi-matte finish.

As for lasting power, it can easily come off after having had food. I prefer to use lip balm before swiping lipstick back on because it seems like the consistency is the same as that of the Colour Collection lipsticks I've tried from Sample Room.

I like the white and gold packaging, it gives a fresh appeal to lipstick junkies out there. However, I would like to see how the brand can design a sleek and slim lipstick, after all, space savers are a plus. Something tells me that I'll be reaching out for Crema in the weeks to come until I've abused it enough.

Did you get a chance to experience Colour Collection's Lip Perfection? Which shades did you get? Have a fab weekend!

Product Spotlight: Nutrilips by Three Beauties London in Blush

Even before I got hold of the right shade for my skin tone from Mary Kay, I've been on the lookout for everyday, wearable lipstick shades. I stumbled upon Three Beauties London Nutrilips being featured in Cash Cash Pinoy and thought hard on whether or not this shade is good for me.

It's a light pink color that has a semi-sheer finish to it. I like that there's not too much shimmer and it's been a regular in my vanity kit for a while now. I've been reaching out for it almost everyday if I have errands to complete or just a feel good day. I got it for only Php385 instead of the usual Php700.

I like that it has a subtle, sweet scent to it instead of just being scented like plain, old lipstick. Also, a couple of swipes can give off a really nice and neat finish. The color makes my whole face look fresh and bright, even if I'm wearing it in the evening. =)

Single Swipe
Double Swipe
I did a comparison among the pink shades I have in my possession. Even if I look sleepy in the evening, I still can't resist seeing how it looks like on me.

It's Been A Mary Kay Week! True Dimensions Lipstick in Color Me Coral

Every lady has a "hunting for that good shade of lipstick" era, or so I assume. But now Mary Kay has been opening its doors and welcoming me lately, so I figured, I should invest in that correct lipstick shade. When I say correct lipstick shade, I learned something from Ms Epie of Mary Kay Zamboanga today. When it comes to  daytime makeup, especially in the office, it is best to have a light and wearable shade of lipstick. And what did Ms Epie recommend? She pulled out, not a wand (though at this point I feel like she is such a fairy godmother already) but a Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Color Me Coral.

It comes in a sleek, push button silver packaging. According to Ms Epie, this is a new shade. To open, push the top and the whole thing slides out, very smart if you ask me, I feel like a Ms James Bond when it pops up. =)

Light you are! Mom got to test it out first hoping that it's her color, turns out it's not. And for the swatches, you can see that it glides on smoothly and takes only a light swipe.

I will update this post and let you know how it all goes, in the meantime, do enjoy the weekend and I have a giveaway to launch so keep checking out this little cyber zone! =)

August Sample Room Goodies

Another Sample Room package here, and my Celeteque list of loved products is slowly growing, thanks to Sample Room. For my most recent haul, I have received these:

Celeteque Dermoscience Brightening Radiance Body Cream
Colour Collection in Red Wine Satin

As usual, you could look forward to the reviews of these products once I already have enough observations. I got to try out the body cream (fancy name for lotion?) and I will let you know what I think about it soon enough. I was so nervous when swatching the lipstick, that will be two red lippies for me now. I have a small but reliable collection of lip color because the other shades that I don't really fancy, I give to aunts and my sister.

How's your weekend? Mine is a busy one, I cleaned the guest bathroom and turned it into a small spa corner! Whee! My solo project is not done yet, I am looking for wicker baskets that are durable to make up for the organizing system in such a small bathroom. I'm not done yet, but I could proudly show off photos once I am, how's that sound?

And of course, remember how I blogged about how I prepared for an exam and job interview? I was told last Friday that I could "report on Monday" and so, thankfully I am preparing for tomorrow.

That's all for now, I hope I still get to blog and keep you updated despite the changes that are happening in my life.

Keep smiling!

My paperback giveaway is still ongoing so you can participate here and I have collaborated with another blogger for this month for a second giveaway. You can check them out and join if you are feeling lucky!

Beauty Review: Colour Collection Vitamin E Sheer Lipstick in Pinkish Nude by Tupperware

I finally found the lipstick shade and brand that goes well with my skin tone! I even took a formal application photo wearing the shade and it turned out well for me. I was in search of a barely-there shade and I finally met my match! I also found it in Sample Room of all places! The good thing about it is that even if the lipstick itself cost only Php 330, I didn't pay for a full size sample and just paid for the shipping fee along with a perfume sample of Thierry Mugler's Alien.

"Keep your lips healthy and kissable with Colour Collections's Vitamin E Lipsticks, a range of lipsticks that are formulated with Vitamin E, making your lips still look moisturized and supple even long after the color wears off. It also has sunscreen that protects your lips from the harmful UV rays of the sun."

About The Company

Most people know the brand Tupperware to be associated with durable kitchen and home containers made of plastic and the like, but not a lot of people are aware of their cosmetics line. Tupperware Brands has a cosmetic line and has allowed Sample Room members to try out their bestselling, glamorous lipsticks with Vitamin E. It is known to speed up cell regeneration and retain natural moisture content of the lips.

Price

For a 4g lipstick sample that is already full-sized, it costs Php 330, but since I got it from Sample Room, it's only 85 points for members and the only expense is the provincial shipping fee of Php130.

About The Product

There are three types to choose from: satin, sheer and matte. Because I am on the lookout for wearable, barely-there shades, I chose the Pinkish Nude in Sheer finish but I am curious to try the Red Wine Satin finish next. It promises sheer texture, and is loaded with Vitamin E to maintain smooth, sensuous and vibrant lips and also a glamorous finish.

Who Is It For?

This shade is for those who are:
  • On the lookout for affordable lipsticks
  • Fond of sheer finish lipsticks and pinkish shades
  • Looking for wearable, barely-there, everyday shades for conservative environments

Pros

I like that it offers:

  • Moisturizing effects, it is very sheer and has gloss-like appearance on the lips
  • Very lightweight, as if there is no lip color whatsoever
  • Subtle pink shade most of all, it goes well with my skin tone!
  • Affordable for most women
  • No drying after-effects which means chapped lips!

Cons

I don't like that:

  • The packaging is bulky, it would have been better if it came in a slimmer stick
  • It is available only through Tupperware dealers
  • Totally wears off after drinking water, must be due to its sheer finish

The Verdict

As I have said, I found my match and it seems like this will be my no-brainer, everyday go-to shade. Now I wonder if the Red Wine Satin lipstick is just as good...

Review: Human Nature Lucky in Love Mineral Hydrating Lipstick

My lip balm also from Human Nature is already exhausted, so I went to the branch and had to pick up a replacement. The one that I got is a deep red shade, Human Nature calls it Lucky in Love, and it is dark almost like wine.

More about the lipstick, it contains passion fruit oil that come from the farms of Davao, so one can be quite proud to patronize the efforts of the Filipino farmers here. I find that the mineral makeup from Human Nature has improved so much from its first launch, and I will be explaining more later in this post.

In the meantime, you might have noticed that Human Nature is one of the leading brands boasting of the cruelty free stamp which means that the mineral makeup being manufactured are free of animal testing. Now that is a company with a heart for nature!

If you want to patronize other products with similar principles, you can look for the rabbit logo with the cruelty free stamp and the big ears shaped like a heart. This campaign seeks to take animals out of cosmetic testing and it is not only picking up awareness in the Philippines but also all over the world.

So what did I think about the product? To be honest I am a one lipstick at a time person. During my college days, I didn't put on lipstick, but I used lip gloss until I emptied the little tube of Mary Kay. It was only after college that I discovered a carmine-free alternative. For those who don't know, carmine is a substance that come from crushed insects to produce that red pigment being used in lipstick. I can only imagine what other brands are still using it.

Pros

Here are some points on why I like the improved formulation of Human Nature's Mineral Hydrating Lipstick:

  • It is highly pigmented and gives off a rich, dark color which is appropriate for evening events
  • It also smells like bubblegum ( I know the campaign says it is passion fruit scented)
  • The lipstick glides on very well and it does moisturize and produces a subtle shine
  • I find it quite affordable at only Php 225.00 so that the average Filipina can afford it
  • Both the box and the tube legibly displays the expiration date

Here you can see the list of ingredients that are used to produce the lipstick. Rest assured it is free of lake dyes and lead.

Cons

And of course, there are some things that I did not approve of:

  • The color wears off after a few hours so I have to discreetly reapply
  • I find that it is not food proof and smudge proof
  • I need two coats to achieve the color that I like

The Verdict

Even with the pros and cons already enumerated, the question remains: Is it worth spending on?

The answer is yes, the pros still overweight the cons, and not only do I get a makeup product, but I know that I can also help animals by buying Cruelty Free products and also improve the lives of Filipino farmers.

How about you? Have you tried any Human Nature makeup or products? What are your thoughts? Leave a comment below!
